[alumNY News] Weddings, Hackathon Winners and more!
Hey folks,
It’s my first community update as a volunteer board member. If you missed our last email, Eric and I transitioned back into the board. It’s been fun taking interviews again, but at least we can have a laugh in slack about the why do you want to work here question.
Community Updates
Congratulations to Steve and Rachel on their wedding!
Steve Gattuso h`13 and Rachel Rios have tied the knot. They've been dating basically the entire time I've been friends with them so I'm delighted to see them tie the knot. Steve has let us know that Rachel hates this photo so hopefully she doesn't see this newsletter and discover how he sent it to all of us.
Shout out to Teresa for being a NYT Fellow
The NYT just introduced its seventh Times Fellowship class. I’m spotting our very own Teresa Mondria Terol h`24 on that list. I know how much Tess has been working to get this role so I’m super happy for her!
Kevin is tabling in Boston.
Kevin Yeh h`15 will be in Boston this Saturday tabling at the Multiple Formats x Boston Art Book Fair with a new generative print and zine.
Gloria wins best emergency and safety hack at HenHacks
Gloria Zhu h`24 made a project for henhacks called SafeCall, which allows someone to dial up a number and chat with a voice bot posing as a friend during unsafe situations to give the user a sense of safety. Check it out on Devpost.
Subscribe to Ray's newsletter!.
Ray Berger h`18 recently started a weekly newsletter about inspiring urbanism news, jobs, and events!
Checkout Adrien's new website.
Adrien Lynch h`22 finished building their personal site!
They wanted it to feel professional & organized but still playful, so you’ll notice some fun interactive features (e.g. realistic three.js globe, retro terminal typing, togglable color scheme, etc).
