Happy fall and PSL season to all who celebrate – this alumNY org update includes a call for new Board Members, an updated alumNY database and staff progress.
hackNY Board of Directors
The hackNY Board is recruiting new alumNY Board Members now! Join hackNY leadership and help to guide the organization to its next phase. Ideal candidates must have a passion for hackNY and alignment with our mission and preferable experience in fundraising, event planning, program development, and/ or marketing. Click here for more information on the position and to apply.
On a related note, we thank Alex Berke (h’13) for her dedication, wisdom and countless contributions as a hackNY board member. Alex has transitioned off the board as her term is fulfilled and she focuses on PhD research studies. Good luck, Alex!
Updated alumNY Database
Have you ever wondered who and where our 360+ alumNY are now? We are gathering LinkedIn profiles, current cities and companies, GitHub usernames and more, to strengthen our community connections. View the list and update your own info here.
Org Progress
We continue to focus on sustainability for the org. That includes fundraising education in the form of books, video courses and websites, along with lots of data gathering and planning documents. We’re also constantly evaluating grants and potential new programs.
The 2025 Fellowship team has been assembled and meets weekly. Applications are open now and being marketed.
Website upgrades like the new Fellowship page have been implemented, with more underway. The goal is to better showcase hackNY’s long 16 year history of success, and highlight our amazing alumNY community.
As mentioned in our return announcement, Shy and I want the hackNY to be as transparent as possible. If you’re ever curious about what we’re currently working on, you can view our daily meeting notes anytime.
2025 Summer Fellowship Applications now open
Please share the new fellowship page with your networks and tech clubs at your university, and encourage them to apply:
